Is Your Site Responsive?

Mobile device usage is on the rise. More and more each day people are leaving their desktops and laptops behind and accessing sites of interest to them via their mobile phone or tablets. How does your site appear when it is pulled up on a phone or tablet? If it’s not responsive then you might not be getting the traffic you want. Creative Clarity has the solution in responsive web design!

What is a responsive site?

Responsive is a term that applies to what your web site does to adjust to the device it is pulled up on. Even though tablets and phablets (phone tablets or large sized phones) are a more common thing, most websites still only accommodate to the size and resolution of a laptop screen or computer monitor. A responsive site however will adjust to the users device. Creative Clarity recently did a website for a Nashville based karaoke bar. We made their site responsive and below is the example:

Notice how the overall look and design remains much the same from desktop to mobile view, however the mobile view is tailored for a phone. That’s the true beauty of responsive design. Adapting without loss of the desktop look and feel.

Is it that important?

If you’re wondering this, then take a look at your competition. If they’re sites are responsive, then you’re behind. If they aren’t, then you’re still behind. Having a responsive website allows you to stay ahead of the game. Google search prefers it, as well as mobile users. Remember a website should be for the people you want to see it. Not for your eyes only. Besides that, it’s easier to manage.

If you have separate desktop and mobile sites, you’re going to have to run separate SEO campaigns for each. Wouldn’t it just be easier to manage only one SEO campaign and one website? That would make not just your customers happy, but also your team including everyone from developers to content marketing managers. More importantly because you only have one site, responsive design is more cost effective as well.
